Carolles, Normandy. A beach much associated with my childhood. We spent many summers in Normandy, and often frequented the beach at Carolles and neighbouring Jullouville. In summer the area is teeming with holiday makers, cars and camper vans. When the tide is out, there is a long walk across the sand to reach the water, but when the tide is in, as it was today, it's got a delightful energy. Carolles beach has some nice se of caves further down, with rocky outcroppings. There's a lot to like here.
